Wow, this is fantastic. Might I ask, is this meant to be based on Left 4 Dead? It seems like three out of the four survivor characters are in there.

WOW. I love the blend of bright colors and the feel of "kids at play" with the intensely disturbing kid zombies. That's really an incredible piece.

I don't suppose you'd consider tweaking it just a bit. You know, replace the girl in a jumper with a boy in camouflage, and throw a gastronomically-challenged fat kid in there somewhere?
Not that it isn't awesome and cute as-is, because it most definitely is. It's also uncannily close to a certain popular video game, and that would seal the deal for me. ;)
(Either way, this is a beautiful piece of work.)

Haha, good idea Yakko, although Bill is like 30 years older than the kids. He'd have to be a teacher or something. And there should also be a kid with a really long tongue stealing someone's lollipop.
Or perhaps a really buff bully about to throw a swing set!

This is, honestly, the best game-related fan work I have ever seen. It's absolutely fantastic and I wish I could get it printed, but living in Brazil makes that really difficult.

Hey Pinz, how about the juxtaposition of indomitable courage in the face of unimaginable terror? Or the inspiring camaraderie depicted by the painting's subjects? One can even comment on the mixed race/gender of the piece's heroes, demonstrating the truth that what differs us is not nearly important as what unites us- a truth adults seem to forget all too often, ESPECIALLY in the face of unimaginable terror.
Possible meanings aside, this is just a stone-cold bad-ass piece of art, and just because it doesn't resonate with you doesn't mean it's just meaningless "hip & trendy" tripe. I'd suggest carefully evaluating your opinions first before ineffectively criticizing a work of art on the artist's own forum.
Hey, hey, Pinz has his right to criticize the piece of art, just like we have the right to think he's a carping buffoon.
However, I must say that the last time I checked, the existence of multilayer messages--or any messages, for that matter--has never been a necessary (nor sufficient) property for calling something "art".
